About the author

Marat Hasanov's photography journey began in the 90s when, as a child, he documented his life using two cameras: one film and one Polaroid.

At the age of 15, during a student exchange program in the USA, Marat encountered one of the first digital cameras, the Sony MVC-FD7, which used floppy disks to store photos. This encounter sparked his interest in digital photography.

In 2003, while living and studying in New Zealand, Marat purchased his first DSLR. This camera became his constant companion for the next decade as he moved from place to place, including Moscow, Siberia, New York, Switzerland, Dubai, and Kazakhstan, for both personal and career-related reasons.

Throughout his life, Marat has actively participated in various photography competitions. In 2010 and 2015, he successfully exhibited his "Around the World" portfolio in Moscow.

Over the last decade, Marat's focus has shifted more towards videography and photography using basic technology like an iPhone. He is drawn to achieving depth through minimalism, capturing basic shapes, shadows, and objects to convey his thoughts and emotions.
